Legalization of Online Gambling

Different countries have different viewpoints on gambling itself, not to speak of online gambling. This depends upon the culture and social norms of the state. While many people consider playing for money corrupts the minds of children, gambling is in the culture of some cultures itself. And to my surprise, I found both things in a single culture. They consider gambling as a method to appease their God yet they desist gambling. Whatever be the reason, gambling is something that one cannot get rid off easily. It prevails in one form or the other.
There are two legal aspects related to the online gambling: the license of the software being used at the casino, and the legality of the transactions being made. Apart from this, there are several other small rules in place. As of now, there are no solid rules that define the online gambling process.
Only the US has strictly ruled out in 2006 that the US residents cannot make any online transaction for the purpose of gambling. Ever since, most of the online casinos have terminated the memberships of the US members and do not accept US residents as new members. But as of now, this ban looks like it has a short life. As Obama comes in as president elect, the US gamers have faith that this rule will be done away with.
