Overview of game play

Back gammon is generally a board game almost similar to chess but it is played with a dice and 15 red and black checkered pieces. These pieces are divided equally among two players. The main objective is to get your pieces of the board before the other player does so. Although this game is generally based on luck there is a lot of scope of probability depending upon the dice roll. The most direct strategy is to avoid being hit, blocked and caught in a stand-off. Other strategies include running game, holding game and the priming game. You’ll learn it all by playing continuously.
For instance when you are already ahead in the game you opt for the running game strategy to help clear the board first. The priming and holding game strategies are used to block the other player’s pieces and to use the other player’s pieces as a model for stand-offs.
