Poker is a game with several variations and tight poker is the game in which pots are smaller and players are very few. During this game, a lot of checking takes place in the hope for a free card which comes out in case of a draw. In some game rooms, many games are played simultaneously and the players do not know what game is being under play until he is seated. If the other players on the table want to raise stakes, then it is ok as far as you can afford it, but if the amount seems to be too high for you, then it would be better for you to back out and move on to another table.
Tight poker is more popular among amateur poker players because if a player cannot win here, then his chances of winning the game for higher stakes are very slim. It is better to start with small first, learn the basics and develop them before moving on to the higher stakes.
